How to share your screen

From selecting a source to sending your invite, learn how to start and keep your stream more stable.

1. Choose a source

Open Settings and choose Screen, Camera or Screen + camera. On a computer, your browser may offer a tab, window or full screen. To avoid showing notifications and other apps, select only the window or tab you want to share. On mobile, available options depend on the browser; use the camera when screen capture is unavailable.

2. Set the quality

Start with Automatic bitrate. For games and motion, 60 FPS can look smoother but needs more processing power and upload capacity. For text or explanations, 30 FPS usually requires fewer resources. Original resolution follows the source dimensions. Choosing 1080p cannot create detail that is missing from the captured image.

3. Start and send the link

Click Start streaming and allow the source in your browser’s picker. Check the preview before copying the invite. Use Copy link and send it to participants. Keep the tab open. Ending the stream makes the invite stop working.

4. Chat and point things out

Use chat to talk. After one minute of video, viewers without a confirmed name are prompted to choose a nickname. Viewers can request the pen; the host grants access in the people list or request notice. Click and drag on the video to highlight a detail. Strokes disappear automatically after about two seconds.

5. Troubleshoot video and audio

Compare Capture resolution with Receiving resolution. Enlarging a small source makes it less sharp. More viewers increase total upload. If the video freezes, lower FPS or resolution and keep bitrate on Automatic. Tap the audio notice if the browser blocks sound. A black screen from the start can also mean the network is blocking the direct connection.

6. Change the source or end the stream

The screen-sharing icon inside the room opens stream options. Use Change screen to choose another source. The power button ends the room. Closing the tab or losing connectivity may interrupt the stream; do not rely on FastLive as your only communication method in critical situations.
